Central Sparks is delighted to confirm the signing of New Zealand international Maddy Green for the remainder of our Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy campaign.
The 30-year-old White Fern joins the Sparks with the team having a crucial last block of 50 over fixtures coming up.
After having Australian Erin Burns in the side earlier in the season, Green follows in the footsteps of Sparks’ former number 20 and comes on board to bolster the ranks.
On the acquisition of Green, Head coach Lloyd Tennant said: “We are delighted to have Maddy join us for these next four Rachael Heyhoe Flint games. It is an important time for the team with us being in a strong position so to have a player like Green join us I’m pleased.
“She will bring professionalism and a bit of x factor, and having Green in the side, it’ll help some of our younger players in the team.
“We can’t wait to see her in action and hopefully she can be a part of a winning squad.”
Green is a huge coup for the Sparks, with big international pedigree having made her debut for New Zealand at the age of just 19. The 30-year-old will add much needed strength in the batting line-up for the team.
The New Zealand international will wear the number five shirt for the Sparks, and fans will get to see her in action on Tuesday 5 September when Tennant’s side face The Blaze in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
