SPARKS PART COMPANY WITH TENNANT AND OSTLER

Central Sparks have parted company with Head Coach Lloyd Tennant and Assistant Coach Dominic Ostler.

Tennant – who’s been on the Sparks coaching staff since October 2020 – and Ostler have stepped down from their roles by mutual consent.

Director of West Midlands Regional Women’s Cricket Laura MacLeod, said: “We wish both Dom and Lloyd all the very best for the future.

“Decisions like this are never easy. The guys are passionate about women’s cricket and the Sparks. They have helped shape the early stages of the professionalisation of the women’s game.

“They achieved success with the team, finishing runners-up in the Charlotte Edwards Cup in 2022, and under Lloyd’s stewardship developed Sparks’ enviable pace bowling attack. We are grateful for their service.

“But we believe the time is right to make changes to Sparks’ coaching staff and structure for the remainder of this season, and in readiness for next season.

“We believe the changes will help us bring sustained success for Bears Women and to keep the side at the forefront of women’s cricket.”

Regional Talent Manager Darren Franklin and ex-New Zealand international Justine Dunce (nee Fryer) have taken on more prominent roles for the remainder of the season as part of the reshuffle
